Hwy 70 Construction & Home Repair —
Frequently Asked Questions
About Hwy 70 & How We Work
Who is Hwy 70 Construction & Home Repair?
We’re a local team based in Carroll County building and repairing homes with steady, reliable craftsmanship. New company, old-school work ethic.
What kind of work do you take on?
Handyman jobs, repairs, carpentry, flooring, small projects, and the kind of jobs most folks don’t want to fool with. If it needs built, fixed, or made right, we probably handle it.
How do you communicate with customers?
Direct and simple. We confirm appointments, keep you updated, and explain things in plain language without talking over your head.
Who will be coming to my home?
A small, steady crew. The same familiar faces — not random names or rotating labor.
Estimates, Pricing & Payments
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are always free.
How do your estimates work?
We look at the job, ask a few questions, and give you a clear price before any work starts. No guessing. No hidden add-ons.
Do you offer itemized pricing?
Yes. You’ll always know what you’re paying for.
Will the price I’m quoted change?
Only if the job itself changes — and you’ll hear about it before we move forward, not after.
Do you charge by the hour or by the job?
Both, depending on the situation.
Handyman Day Rates
Half Day (up to 4 hours) — $275
Full Day (up to 8 hours) — $500
Larger jobs are quoted as fixed-price estimates.
Do you require a deposit?
Some projects do, some don’t. If a deposit is required, you’ll know upfront.
When is payment due?
At the end of the job, once the work is complete and you’re satisfied.
Scheduling & Job Process
How soon can you come out?
Depends on the workload, but we move steady — not slow. We’ll give you the first opening available.
Do you give an arrival window?
Yes. No one has time to sit around all day waiting on a contractor.
Do you really show up when you say you will?
Yes. Showing up is part of the job. We don’t leave people guessing.
What happens if something delays the job?
You hear it from us immediately, not hours later.
What should I expect on the day of service?
We arrive on time, walk the job with you, get to work, and keep a clean, steady pace throughout the day.
Do you clean up after the job?
Every time. A clean workspace is part of doing it right.
Types of Work We Do
Do you take small jobs?
Absolutely. They’re the backbone of the community.
Do you take larger projects?
Yes — flooring, carpentry, repairs, decks, porches, and more. If it’s outside our scope, we’ll tell you upfront.
Do you work with homeowners, landlords, and businesses?
Yes. If you own the property, we can help you maintain it.
Do you do emergency repairs?
Sometimes. If we can get there safely and quickly, we will.
Quality & Guarantees
What does “quality” mean to you?
Straight lines, solid work, clean cuts, and jobs done the way we’d want them done in our own homes.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. If something isn’t right, we make it right.
What if there’s an issue after the job?
Call us. We stand behind our work.
Working in Your Home
Do I need to be home during the work?
Not always. We can work with you on whatever’s comfortable.
How do you protect my floors, walls, and belongings?
We use drop cloths and move carefully. Respecting your home is part of the job.
How do you handle pets?
No problem. Just let us know ahead of time what to expect.
Do you smoke or vape on the property?
No.
Do you run loud tools early or late?
We keep normal working hours and respect your neighbors.
Local Service Area
What areas do you serve?
Huntingdon, McKenzie, Bruceton, Trezevant, Hollow Rock, Clarksburg, and surrounding areas in Carroll County.
Do you charge travel fees?
Only for long-distance jobs outside the county.
Will you come out for small jobs outside Huntingdon?
If we can make the schedule work, yes.
You’re a new company — how do I know I can trust you?
We’re new on paper, but we work the old way — steady, respectful, and with pride in the details. Most of our work already comes from word-of-mouth. We show up, do the job right, and treat people the way we want to be treated. That’s how trust is earned.
